The space around you

2014

As this body of work developed and I began to view the images, I found myself questioning solitude. I was interested in the way my senses became heightened by solitude, and how, as a photographer that lack of solitude at home literally changed the way I saw the world I was living in. These photographs were made over a period of more than five years, with the bulk of the imagery being shot across Mexico. Nonetheless, knowing the location is not necessary to understanding this work. It was simply a place where I was able to step away from my work, computer, cell phone, and everyday life to clear my head and just see.
